![]() ![]() There are definitely valid criticisms of each of my books, but I feel like I'm on solid ground in critiquing the work we'll be looking at today, for a few reasons.įirst, the author is very successful for a self-published novelist, having topped the Amazon charts multiple times and built up a dedicated online following. I've self-published three works of fiction since 2016, and while I don't think they're terrible, writing is my hobby and not my job, and my work is not going to compare to the work of someone with more time to write, more resources for research, and help from a professional editor. I'm going to be in dangerous territory for most of this piece, as I'll be critiquing a work of fiction by an independent author who frequently self-publishes his work in other words, I'm about to throw a big-ass stone in a glass-ass house. ![]()
